Service Description

SEND Play Café Smaller groups • Calmer play • No diagnosis required A calmer, smaller play session designed primarily for children aged 1–5 with additional or emerging needs, including children awaiting assessment. No formal diagnosis is required. With reduced numbers, a relaxed atmosphere and access to our sensory play spaces, children can explore at their own pace without pressure or judgement. Parents and carers can meet other families who understand, share experiences and access practical support throughout the programme. If your child falls slightly outside the age range and you feel the session would be suitable for them, please contact us before booking. Sessions with Dr Lucy Selected sessions will include an informal discussion with Dr Lucy, Clinical Psychologist, followed by time for parent questions and general guidance. 15 October 2026 – Understanding the School SEND System 12 November 2026 – Understanding Autism 10 December 2026 – Understanding ADHD 21 January 2027 – Understanding PDA 25 February 2027 – Sensory Processing 18 March 2027 – Sleep 15 April 2027 – Emotionally Based School Avoidance & School-Based Trauma 20 May 2027 – Big Feelings & Emotional Regulation 17 June 2027 – Supporting Transitions 15 July 2027 – Child-to-Parent Aggression Dr Lucy's discussions may also be relevant to parents and carers of older children. You can attend the Dr Lucy sessions without a child. Important information Parents and carers must remain with and supervise their child throughout the session. These sessions provide a supportive family play environment alongside general information and guidance. They do not provide childcare, individual assessment, diagnosis, therapy or clinical treatment.
