Dr Lucy: Understanding Autism
Funded & Free To Attend
Service Description
Understanding Autism with Dr Lucy If you're starting to explore whether your child may be autistic, you might have lots of questions. This session aims to help parents understand the differences in communication, sensory processing, thinking, emotions and relationships that we see in autistic children. We will look at what autism can look like in everyday life, as well as helping you to feel confident in supporting your child’s individual strengths and needs. The talk will be followed by a parent and carer Q&A, providing an opportunity to ask questions and receive general guidance. Children are welcome to attend and use the play facilities during the session, or parents and carers may attend without their child. Children remain the responsibility of their accompanying adult throughout. Your child does not need to have an autism diagnosis or be undergoing an assessment for you to attend. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________- About Dr Lucy Dr Lucy is a Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of experience working in mental health and neurodivergence.
