Dr Lucy: Understanding PDA
Funded & Free To Attend
Service Description
Understanding Autism with Dr Lucy You've heard of PDA but reading online has left you feeling more confused about what it is and how to access support for this. This session aims to help parents understand demand avoidance, the role of anxiety and nervous system responses, and why some children may find everyday expectations particularly difficult. We wiill look at approaches to supporting your child with this, while looking after their own wellbeing. Children are welcome to attend and use the play facilities during the session, or parents and carers may attend without their child. Children remain the responsibility of their accompanying adult throughout. Your child does not need to have an autism diagnosis or be undergoing an assessment for you to attend. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________- About Dr Lucy Dr Lucy is a Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of experience working in mental health and neurodivergence.
